Graduated from Doshisha University, the Faculty of Law in 1977

Prior to joining RECOF in 1998, Onji served as the head of general planning office and management planning division of the Daiei Inc., a major retail group, and as secretary to Mr. Isao Nakauchi, the president of Daiei at the time, successfully completing many projects such as large-scale M&A deals including the acquisitions of Recruit Co., Ltd. and Ala Moana Shopping Center in Hawaii, launch of new businesses, development of the convenience store business (Lawson) in Shanghai and listing of the affiliated company.

From April 2008, he served as COO and the member of the management committee of RECOF Corporation. He became President and Representative Director of RECOF Corporation in June 2010.

Over his 20 years of experience in M&A deals including his days at Daiei, he has extensive track records in M&A deals both in Japan and abroad including the transactions in the retail, wholesale and food industries, real estate such as hotels and commercial facilities, and deals related to business succession.
